Our Story

As little girls, much of our summers were spent in the backyard sitting in the middle of a tire that hung from a tree. It was in these swings that we would sit, looking up at the bright blue sky, losing ourselves in the white puffy clouds giggling and sharing secrets, hopes and dreams.

On a recent visit to a park with our little ones, we again found ourselves underneath a tree in an old tire swing recalling the familiarity of those summers. It was at that moment we decided our kids needed one of these!

As we set out on our quest for a couple of discarded tires, we were shocked to find mountains of tires-once useful and purpose driven that now sat discarded, dirty and ugly in a landfill to sit for thousands of years . The familiarity of those joy filled summers we remembered now saddened us . Suddenly we became very conscience of the disastrous effects these tire holding grounds have on our Earth.

We immediately decided that we needed to do something. But what? Provide ever child we knew with a tire swing? With almost 1 billion tires discarded annually we wouldn't even make a dent in our local landfill's supply much less our Earth's.

Thus, is the begining of Greenbees. A story of redemption and of how 2 little giggling girls who had once found joy in an old rugged tire grew up and found a way to give a favorite memory a new lease on life.

Greenbees. Let it walk you to your next journey.

TIRE FACT:
When placed in local landfills, used tires are prime perpetrators for tearing and damaging the linins meant to protect the ground and surface water, causing other harmful substances to leach into our soil and waters.
